The project team will now work towards securing the final permits to enable first production, which is expected in 2H29. Coroccohuayco is projected to significantly increase Antapaccay’s life of mine and future copper production.

Luis Rivera, Chief Operating Officer, Glencore South America, said: “Securing access to the required land is an important milestone for Coroccohuayco and for the long-term future of the wider Antapaccay operation, and complements the MEIA environmental approval received earlier in the year. We will continue to work closely with the local communities and authorities as we take the project forward.”

“Coroccohuayco is expected to extend Antapaccay’s life of mine to over 40 years, supporting jobs, local suppliers and economic development in Espinar and the wider Cusco region for decades to come,” said Jon Evans, Industrial Lead Copper at Glencore.
